Moment of Silence
For BC Athletics 2008-2009.
BC Men's Hockey and Basketball both ended their respective seasons in heartbreaking losses last night. BC basketball traveled to Minnesota as the #7 seed and was beaten by 17 points by #10 USC.
BC hockey played BU in the Hockey East semifinals. First of all, I had a splitting headache. I had to go to the TD Banknorth Garden's First Aid station for about an hour. Too much noise! I have no idea why I felt like crap. Anyways. It was 1-0 us, then BU scored 3 goals in 44 seconds. THREE GOALS IN FORTY FOUR SECONDS. Holy fucking shit. I came back and Joe Whitney had scored a goal for us making it 3-2. There are two images from that game that are currently cemented in my brain: one is that last shot off of the faceoff with about 5 seconds left. The rebound was batted away by a BU player and they won right there. The second is Brock Bradford's face after we lost. He seriously looked like he had been shot.
I was fortunate enough to go with the pep band in a bus to the Garden, but BU fans were being utterly brutal to us in just the short walk back to the bus. They gave us crap about our basketball team (does BU even have a basketball team?) and the fact that there weren't many BC people there. I hate BU. They will not win a National Championship this year, all their good players will go pro, and we will get them next year. Go UMass Lowell with your awesome jazz I mean pep band.
We still have the Bruins, who I know will pull out of this slump quite gracefully with a win over New Jersey tomorrow. I'm going to the Bruins game on March 31st against the Tampa Bay Lightning. And don't forget about those Red Sox! I'm doing the green team again this year and I'm totally going to 3 games in a span of about 10 days and that's including a Yankees game on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball! So excited. I hope I see Jon Lester pitch again.
I cannot stop listening to the Decemberists' new album the Hazards of Love. It's fucking amazing. Colin Meloy is a mastermind.
Now I'm trying to get started on two nursing papers in a FREEZING study room. I have a mid-term on Tuesday, but that's in my film class so I'm not too worried about it. Tonight I would like to get very drunk.

Yeah...
I wish my toaster hadn't disappeared. I'm getting tired of making toast under the broiler. Last time, I burned my hand.
